Radio ECCA, Fundación Canaria, Spain, as part of the consortium involved in the Erasmus+ project Solopreneur (http://www.solo-preneur.eu/) organised on Thursday 29th October a Multiplier event in the form of a conference for job-seekers, underemployed/temporarily unemployed and those who are seeking better or new opportunities through self-employment on topics related to the intellectual outputs and the project online platform.

Due to the current situation and taking into account the Spanish COVID restrictions, the event was held using Cisco Webex platform and Radio ECCA’s channel of youtube. More than 45 people took part in this conference.
The speakers of the conference were Mr. Juan Fernando López Aguilar, Member of European Parliament since 2009 and Ministry of Justice in Spain 2004-2007; Rosa Batista Canino, Vice chancellor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Director of GEM (Global Entrepreneurship Monitoring) Spain and Enrique Borrell, professor, coach and responsible for the new Canary Islands Entrepreneurship Programme which he introduced for the first time at our conference.

The main goal of the Multiplier Event was to present the project and its results, the content of the elaborated courses within the project and gathering local and regional stakeholders in the sector of entrepreneurship in order to create synergies and strengthen the existing networks.

Participants got involved in the 2 and a half hours event. The topics tackled were the current situation of entrepreneurship in Europe in general and in the Canary Islands as an outermost region and the new budget and measures in order to improve the programmes to support entrepreneurs and self-employed people. Finally, an introduction of the project results was presented. Potential synergies were created with a regional NGO that provides mentoring and networking events to entrepreneurs.

SOLOPRENEUR, a European Project co-founded by the European Commission, aims at developing innovative training and learning solutions to enhance employability of job-seekers, underemployed/temporarily unemployed and those who are seeking better or new opportunities through self-employment. SOLOPRENEUR specific objectives are to support the acquisition of skills and tools to enhance self-employability.
